Not white hot rage. Not this year.

Tonight was my family’s Christmas party. There were a few people missing this year, my baby boy for one. He had to work. Zach and his girlfriend of two years split a few months ago, so he was solo. One of my cousins had a baby since last Christmas and it was nice to get my baby fix. I passed the baby off to Middle Sister when she got fussy. The baby, not Middle Sister.

Last year, after my family Christmas party, I wrote about an incident with my narcissistic father. I behaved badly in a reaction to him behaving badly.

Christmas is just around the corner! Again!

This is the time of year that you get to see Facebook posts waxing poetic about It’s A Wonderful Life. I am going to make a confession, I’ve never watched that movie all the way through. I know what it’s about though. George Bailey is going to jump off a bridge because of Mr. Potter and Clarence the angel stops him by showing him what life would be like if he had never been born.

Because It’s Just Not Christmas Without White Hot Rage

We celebrate Christmas with my mom’s side of the family a few Saturdays before Christmas and it’s usually a good time. It’s the only time I see most of these people and it’s fun to see how much the kids have grown.

We went to our party last night. My older son and his girlfriend made the drive to Northern Kentucky with us. It felt good having everyone together in the car.
