Who Is Jessica?

Remember a while back when Helena Hann-Basquiat wrote that phenomenal guest post for my blog about Joe Strummer? No? Well, you should read it, it’s a great story.

I’ve read much of Helena’s work and it’s funny and heartbreaking and a wonderful place to get lost.

She also keeps a woman in her basement. Jessica B Bell. Jessica writes as well. She writes some dark and twisted shit, you guys.

As it turns out, Jessica left (escaped?).

Helena, along with the help of some other writers, have pieced together Jessica’s life. I am thrilled to be a part of this project. Look! Right there! My name on a cover of a book!jessica2

Jessica is available to download on Kindle here. You can also purchase a paperback version here. The deluxe edition for iBooks is here.

It’s such an honor to be in the company of these amazing women. Please do yourself a favor and check out their work as well.

Lizzi Rogers is hosting a giveaway on her blog, Considerings. You could win the poem she wrote for the ‘missing pages’ in Jessica.

Freya McMillan blogs at Freya Writes.

J.S. Collyer’s writing blog can be found here.

Hayley Morgan has an interactive online literary magazine called Fiction Crowd.

Hannah Sears work has been featured on Vers Les Etoiles.

The cover was designed by Hastywords, please check out her site as well. So much talent.

I found working on this project tremendously satisfying and it was nice to try my hand at fiction. It’s inspired me to keep plugging away on a project I’ve been tinkering with for a few months now. I get a little done and then I back away and say to myself..No, no…wait. This is just too weird.

Then I read Jessica and decided my project isn’t weird.

Well, it is. But not too weird.

I am going to go ahead and put my own feet to the fire. If I tell you guys about it, then I have to finish writing The Other Poodles.

Until then, visit the links to purchase Jessica electronically or buy the paperback. You won’t be sorry. You might be scared. You’ll definitely be disturbed.

You’ve been warned.

33 Thoughts.

    • I got the idea from a friend who told me the most bizarre story that happened to her when she was a kid. I’m just blowing the story out and tossing it down a rabbit hole.

  1. Congratulations!!! I am so proud of you guys and since I’ve been reading it all I am obsessed with it! A wonderfully woven tale for sure. Can’t wait to read your next project. I find myself doing the same thing. I write for a while then leave it for a little while then before I know it I am right back at it! Can’t wait until they are finished!

  2. Congratulations! You should totally be in print!
I have ordered this book on amazon.com and will write a review when I hopefully have a chance to read it.

  3. Perfect.
I’m so glad you included the link to iBooks because searching for it was next to impossible on my iPad. I dunno if it’s because I’m in Canada, but when I searched for Jessica on my iPad in iBooks, it suggested a bunch of crap I wasn’t interested in.
At any rate, I’m looking forward to reading it.
Years ago, a friend of mine (in drama) told me whenever she did anything rather frivolous or risqué, she would blame it on her alter-ego – Ruby. I’m thinking this may be similar, but then again, maybe not. 🙂

  4. I love seeing your name on a book! How cool is THAT?!

The only time that will happen for me is when I (ever) finish a cookbook I’m working on. But it won’t be a page-turner or anything…

    Congrats!!!!!
